The new Marilyn count was fairly low, as finishing a second round of Munros was the main target for the year. The memorable trips all seemed to involve getting wet. A good soaking was had aboard the MFV Glorious on the crossing to Ailsa Craig at the end of March, with Brent Lynam and others. A solo trip to Glen Pean in April involved some dodgy river crossings, and my second Munro completion on Stob na Broige in October was very wet indeed. Among 20 folks on the final summit were Dave Hewitt, Brent Lynam and Pete Milne. The main lesson of the day was that burns in Glen Etive can rise extremely rapidly in heavy rain. However, the best day of the year was on the Buachaille in mid March - excellent snow and ice on Curved Ridge, with perfect alpine weather.
