Ken Butcher: I claimed Benbeoch on the way home from Ailsa Craig and now wonder why I was so concerned about it. Start at NS489068 and cross an old rail track, passing through trees to reach open ground, bearing NNE. Follow the outside of a fenced grazed field. Cross double-width track and then a wide flat area of wet clay where spoil is being tipped. Keep the stone wall (shown on Explorer 327) on your right until steps and a gap at the meeting of walls (494082) just below the summit.
