Baglog: David Foster (+54=726)

Having retired at Christmas 2006, I thought I might try to finish the Grahams in 2007. As it happened I continued to spend a lot of time on Glasgow Glenmore Club meets with few Grahams available, and I added only another 36, leaving 26 for this year. I also added 14 Scottish Marilyns over 500m, possibly my next category for bagging. Nearly all were done without a car. Perhaps my best trip was a week in Wester Ross, with a five-day hike from Gruinard to Poolewe over two Grahams and several repeat Corbetts, followed by Grahams near Ullapool. On another expedition in Perthshire I had a remarkable experience on Beinn na Gainimh. While sitting on the cairn I was joined by a couple of walkers, the first time this has happened on an obscure Graham, i.e. not Ben Cleuch. Later the same day, while heading for Meall Dearg, I was attacked by a swarm of stinging insects, probably flying ants; extremely unpleasant and alarming until I got a jacket and midge hood on. Is global warming making the Highland wildlife more dangerous?
