Baglog: Rhona Fraser (+50=883)
Highlights:
- Climbing Pico Bolivar (4986m) on new year's day, the highest peak in Venezuela and an AD rock climb (though not an Ultra). Good for someone scared of heights.
- Completing my third round of Corbetts on Sgurr a'Mhuilinn (12A). I never tire of doing Corbetts or Grahams. With the requirement of 150m on all sides, the views are worth the effort, far more than many a Munro.
- An interesting time in Yorkshire, courtesy of the annual orienteering competition near Leeds, in my newly bought camper van. The highlight was on Easter Sunday morning, armed with my breakfast coffee, walking across the road from my night parking spot and rolling my Easter egg on the 'summit' of Bishop Wilton Wold. The most enjoyable walk, mainly because of the clear weather, was to Thorpe Fell Top (35B), a lovely grassy hill.
Lowlight:
Climbing Hill of Stake (27A) in thick mist and rain, taking rivers and fences as attack points. I only considered it as it was near an orienteering competition, but one does wonder in these circumstances why the hell we do such things. No views, but I suppose there is satisfaction that you can succeed in such conditions.
