Baglog bonanza:

John Steel (+14=756)

Although 2014 was a fairly busy year for hillwalking, once again my Marilyn tally only reached the mid-teens. Most of the year was spent repeating Munros or Donalds.

It was an easter trip to Strontian before I managed to get off the mark. Beinn Chlaonleud in Morvern was climbed in warm sunshine. Liz and I lazed on top, picking out familiar hills seen from not-so-familiar angles. Next day was if anything even warmer. I climbed Ben Laga while Liz drove out to Ardnamurchan Point.

The following weekend we were to meet Rory in Dingwall for a day on the Fannichs, but with the clouds down to almost road level we instead climbed Meall Doire Faid, from Braemore Junction.

Liz and I had a holiday in the Western Isles where we climbed Mealaisbhal on Lewis, Ben Sciathan on Eriskay and Crogary Mor and Maireabhal on North Uist.

The beginning of September brought a visit to the east side of Loch Ness where I climbed Meall an Tarsaid. A visit to Easter Ross at the end of the month gave a day out on Cnoc an t-Sabhail to the north of Strath Rory, and a short dash up Hill of Nigg, between the showers.

North-east Fife was the location for the last Marilyn trip of the year when we climbed Cairnie Hill and Mount Hill on our way to a Moonwalker talk in the Bonnar Hall in Dundee.
