2014 saw slow but steady progress with a by-now almost par for me number of additions. A slowish start to the year, where the highlight was a winter ascent of Stob na Cruaiche from Rannoch station on a wonderfully clear but bitterly cold day with stunning views over Rannoch Moor. At Easter I had a week on Shetland which included a splendid visit to Noss Head. Unfortunately, bad weather stopped me getting to Foula. A summer fortnight saw a number of Wester Ross and Sutherland Corbetts and Grahams visited. An October week holiday was based on the North Yorkshire moors.
During the year I also spent a few poor-weather days boosting my England total by visiting some of the smaller Lake District outliers to the south and west of the main massif. Plans for 2015 remain to be confirmed, although an Easter trip to Islay and Jura has been arranged.
