My interest in Marilyns began... Initial interest was as a result of an island hopscotch trip (with motor caravan and wife) starting at Barra and ending up at my wife's family croft on Lewis (Gravir). Wife needs 30k-tonne vessel displacement to feel comfy so islands south of Barra were not on this trip. Told Bert Barnett that if Marilyn bagging trips to islands south of Barra were on to let me know. So began Marilyn bagging... Bert sent me a copy of 'The Relative Hills of Britain' and an invite to a trip in 2006 organised by Brent Lynam... a superb trip where I met a few of the worthies, Stewart Logan etc.
My favourite Marilyn is... difficult question this one but probably Tryfan in the company of BRI pals after Grooved Arete in fine conditions.
My least favourite Marilyn is... one of three (difficult to distinguish worst):
Do I keep Marilyn bagging a secret? Did not keep secret as unaware as to my totals until quite late. I was noted as a lurker after meeting the Squires party on South Uist. Alan Dawson had a chat with Bert Barnett in 2013 and sent an email to me asking how many left to do. Am not really into counting until the last twenty or so.
