Baglogs:

John Ward (+29=1093)

I think that I was rather fortunate with the weather in 2011. I had a few niggling injuries at various times (knees, sciatic nerve and Achilles tendon) but they did not stop me from hillwalking. Highlights included re-walking the Edale to Gargrave section of the Pennine Way in late March in excellent weather. Best Scottish hills were Ben Hiant during an April trip to Ardnamurchan and Ben Stack in early June - but why has a small transmission station been sited on the summit of this remote hill?

After acquiring the Humps book, I spent late October in Deeside and then in Carrbridge, where there were some pleasing Humps. These included Torr Alvie, which is not as private as it appears, and Creag an Fhithich and Beinn Ghuilbin which have fine open forests. I also enjoyed the ascent of Carn Bheadain which is a Corbett Top, combining it with the heather-covered Cairn a'Cnuic in Abernethy Forest.
