Thirty-two new hills for me in 2011 after climbing none at all in 2010. I do not particularly like driving, and with most unclimbed hills being some distance from Edinburgh, it was quite easy to concentrate my efforts closer to home. I spend more time on my bike now, mostly cycle touring at home and abroad.
However I did have opportunities to visit Harris, St Kilda and Shetland and these gave me virtually all the new hills of the year. Highlights were Foula and, to a lesser extent, St Kilda, which was great but just not quite as much as I thought it would be.
