Ticking along nicely during 2011 but no completions to report, unless the IoM Marilyns count. I have been teasing away at the remaining handful of hills in the Corbett, Graham and English Marilyn lists for far too many years now and should at this point inject some focus into achieving a completion. It has been four years since the Furths were knocked off and I no longer know how my body will cope at altitudes in excess of 2000 feet. With this in mind, I propose to conquer the English first (Marilyns, that is), hopefully within the year. However, once I have realised this goal, I will surely miss the organisation and execution of my day trips by public transport to Yorkshire and Cumbria. I will also miss the readily available selections of quality ales and the generally easier walking conditions both underfoot and from above. So perhaps I am being a bit too hasty here and should reconsider my options or at the very least hold a referendum with myself to make sure I make the correct choice as regards when to see off the English. After all, once done, it's irreversible.
