Donald Shiach: A good route up these is to head up the way-marked path from Sutherland's Grove (NM966423) on the A828 and follow the track up Gleann Dubh to a turning circle at NN000423. There is 200 metres of x-rated forestry and a smart new fence to negotiate, however, the fence-builders have helpfully left a line of tapes showing the way through the trees, turning a potential nightmare into a walk in the woods. Of course, this does not help with climbing the fence. Coming off the hill, aim to cross the fence immediately north of the burn and you will pick up the line of tapes.
