Andy Hyams: I had marked this one 'possible forest problems' as there are no tracks shown on the 1:50000 map and the firebreaks on the 1:25000 map are discontinuous, but it is simple. Start from the station and follow the red marker posts until, at the top of a steep rise, the path crosses a burn and drops slightly. Leave the path and follow the east bank of the burn, never more than one tree into the forest. You eventually emerge onto tussocky open ground below the summit.
