Baglogs:

Stewart Logan (1551)

There was no increase in my total during 2010 - I still require the three tricky St Kilda summits. However, I have been keeping busy on a variety of projects. The year started with doing the Fototops in the very wintry conditions which made even the Ochils rather hard work. I then completed the last of my British Isles P600s in Ireland, with Jim Bloomer in June. A fortnight in Ireland with rain for only ten minutes is not bad (CW: I would say truly miraculous, if Alan would allow such hyperbole). I was also involved in the surveys of three of the marginal Munros, sponsored by the Munro Society and carried out by John Barnard and Graham Jackson. These confirmed the current status of Geal Charn at Dalwhinnie, Beinn a'Chleibh adjacent to Ben Lui, and The Fara. The highest point on The Fara is a rocky outcrop about 100 metres to the south-west of the large cairn. A big trip is planned to Fisherfield in 2011 to check out Ruadh Stac Mor, Beinn a'Chlaidheimh and Beinn Dearg Mor. In addition, stalking permitting, we hope to get in to check the height of the very remote Corbett, Beinn Bhreac, north of Blair Atholl.

Our local doctor invited me on a sailing trip from Tobermory to Skye and back to the Clyde. I persuaded him to pop onto Soay and quickly nipped up and down Beinn Bhreac. He actually needed no persuasion as he came up with me. He has promised to do likewise on wee Cumbrae this year.
