Baglogs:

Mark Smith (+26=1032)

My total of new Marilyns was pretty low last year as injuries disrupted my Spring campaign and English Hump collecting is less depleting of the coffers. For an exciting hill approach, I need look no further than the bus ride (slither) up Dalveen Pass in blizzard conditions on the way to Well Hill and Ballencleuch Law in January. In descent the following month, an unexpectedly hard bank of old snow on the north-west flank of Loch Fell (27B Hump), which should have been tackled with crampons as well as ice axe, deserves a 'caught you ill-prepared' award.

After a plethora of agricultural hills, the principal highlight was a November trip to Arran for a return to rougher terrain, with an ascent of Caisteal Abhail in sub-zero temperatures.
