I seemed to spend a lot of time on the islands, including Islay, Kerrera, Ulva and Gometra. The lower hills on Skye and Mull also gave excellent days. Highlights of the year were Beinn Bheigier on Islay and Ben Tianavaig on Skye, both of which have spectacular drops to the sea on one side. Other highlights were a birthday ascent of Meall Luidh Mor (4B) and two days later a walk from Loch Ossian to Rannoch to take in Sron Smeur; memorable for the tourists on Rannoch station asking me if I had travelled far. And best of all a glorious day in May, taking in Leathad Mor and Glas Bheinn (3A) and seeing a new-born deer calf sitting in the grass by itself.
