Marilyn Poll

After ten years of Marhofn it's time to have a poll. Take your time to think about it, as you've got until the end of January to vote. Results will be published in Marhofn next year. There are a whopping 18 categories, and you can vote in as many as you like, 1 to 18. No need to have climbed all the relevant hills to vote, but it would help if you'd done a few of them. So, Brian Ewing and James Lamb, you're not supposed to vote on English or Welsh hills. The main criterion for your choices should be personal experience, not photos or received wisdom, but try not to be too influenced by the weather. You can use the form below or just send a note or email to the usual address.

  Best Worst
Scottish hill over 900m ........................ ........................
Scottish hill 600-899m ........................ ........................
Scottish mainland hill under 600m
........................

........................
Scottish island hill under 600m
........................

........................
English hill over 600m ........................ ........................
English hill under 600m ........................ ........................
Welsh hill over 600m ........................ ........................
Welsh hill under 600m ........................ ........................
Anywhere, any height ........................ ........................

All choices should be individual British Marilyns, so Liathach, Beinn Eighe, Beinn a'Ghlo or Half Dome are not valid answers.

Next year

This is the tenth Hall of Fame table to appear in Marhofn, and is likely to be the last one in its current form. Next year the same format will be used for new members, and for those entering the Upper Hall (1000+). Details for everyone else will be shown in a shorter format, like this:

1549 Ken Whyte, Fort William 1967, 1999, 2005 SWEMCGDH

where 1549 is Ken's end-of-year Marilyn total, Fort William is where he currently lives, 1967 is when he climbed his first Marilyn, 1999 his 600th and 2005 his latest. The letter S means he has climbed all the Scottish mainland Marilyns, W all the Welsh Marilyns, E the English Marilyns, M the Murdos (not just Munros), C means Corbetts, G Grahams, D the New Donalds and H the Hewitts of England and Wales.
