Jim Fothergill: In view of the warnings when approaching this hill from the NW, I parked in a field gateway at the end of the road at SJ177043, from where it was a straightforward walk up the hill to the right of the farm track to a track north of the large house at 186050, and to the wood containing the unmarked summit. The GPS indicated that the book position of SJ189053 was some way off the obvious high point near the edge of the wood - I think 190053 is nearer the mark.
