Andy Hyams: From the B743 north of Muirkirk, it is permissible to drive along the private track signed for the Covenanters Monument. You can drive almost to Priesthill Farm. From there follow white marker posts to John Brown's grave and then take to the hill. Any doubts this is kosher are dispelled by the map in the walkers' car park in nearby Kames.
