Not as many new Marilyns as I'd hoped for despite quite a lot of walking, starting on a very icy Ben Ledi and finishing on a very wet Beinn Narnain. Arnside Knott was bagged a few days after receiving the newsletter, so maintaining my English completion. Highlights included a wonderful panorama from Ben Starav on a fine day, an even better view from Beinn Lora (3B) on a day of exceptional clarity, and a sunny September day bagging all the 2000ft tops in the Ochils, finishing the Donalds on Ben Cleuch. Lowlight was an hour of purgatory among the trees of Airds Hill, where a machete would have been useful. The year petered out on some very wet Munros.
