At the start of the year I was aiming to get my English total into three figures and grand total over 900, but I got sidetracked on other trips. I did not realise until I added up my figures that I was so close to 700 hills in Scotland. I must do better this year; there are so many good trips I have planned that I must get round to completing some of them. My main problem at the moment is being based in Dundee (covering gas high-pressure pipelines between Forth, Peterhead and Inverness) while still living in Derbyshire, until my son completes his A-levels. I can visit some hills travelling back and forth, but when I could be walking round the Highlands at a weekend I ought really be going home.
