Baglogs:
Richard Speirs (+38=1093)
It does not seem to matter what criteria I use; hill days, Marilyns, Humps, etc, 2012 was definitely a year of two halves in this bagging game. The first six months was pretty much business as usual, but the least said about most of the second six the better.
Various trips and highlights were:
- Finding a 300m long otter slide in the snow above Aberfeldy with occasional clear pad/tail marks.
- Several excellent trips to various corners of the Lakes throughout the different seasons.
- Watching the steam train pass by near the end of a circuit of the Mallerstang Common skyline.
- Being treated to the sudden clearance of the clag to reveal High Cup Gill in all its glory.
- A couple of most enjoyable solo jaunts round the South Harris Marilyns.
- Fantastic boat trips to Scarba/Lunga/Garvellachs and to Sanda - thanks Alison and Doug - during which Sanda lighthouse and its prominence were duly bagged by both internal and external routes.
- A successful bagging week based near Ballater despite somewhat varied weather conditions.
- A long sought after end-to-end walk along the Ochils.
- A fantastic autumn break at Mar Lodge with its resplendent autumn tree colours.
- A much-delayed English Marilyns completion on Sighty Crag.
