Before I ventured into the Upper Hall, a careful review resulted in one deletion - Illgill Head wrongly recorded as climbed in 1940.
Having reserved North Berwick Law to be my 1000th Marilyn, this geriatric member finally made it on 1 September 2012. I was accompanied by my granddaughter and several good friends - incidentally, we have accumulated ten Munro rounds between us.
The 2012 bag was collected far and wide, covering much of Scotland, Northumberland, north Wales and even Cornwall. My favourite Marilyn had to be Eaval, being perched up there above that maze of lochans was magical.
Hensbarrow Beacon was the pits.

Other great days were spent on Ben Griam Mor, Maiden Pap and those three Marilyns near Mallaig.
On a return visit to The Cobbler with my grandson, his agility on the summit rocks was very obviously superior to mine.
A family Christmas on Spain's Costa Brava was blessed with fine weather. A coastal walk along the limestone ridge of Sierra Helada was a great way to work off some of those festive calories and a fitting end to the year.
