Not the biggest total for 2012, but not bad considering I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in August and broke my elbow in October. I am just pleased I completed all the 2000ft Marilyns some time ago, so I can continue to plod up the lower hills for a while yet. My friends the Hasties swept past my total this year and, as Laurence Rudkin retires this year, I anticipate he will move rapidly up the list as well. It is some consolation that our famous surveyors, Messrs Barnard and Jackson, have got diverted on to other things, so maybe I will not fall even further behind them.
