The year 2012 was not a good one for new Marilyns but it was a good year for walking, at least for us. Too much of our time was spent repeating hills in Wales and the Lake District or walking in the French Alps. The finest Marilyn climbed in 2012 was, undoubtedly, Cadair Idris, a many times repeat, where my wife and I saw a Glory of ourselves on her fiftieth birthday, while descending Fox's Path. A memorable Welsh addition was Rhobell Fawr on a very wet day in March where we met the only other walkers of the day at exactly the halfway point for the day, midway between Rhobell Fawr and Dduallt. We were as surprised as they were to see anyone at all that day.
Our only Scottish Marilyn of 2012 was Arthur's Seat, another repeat on our only short visit north of the border in 2012.
