The year's bagging started with a visit to Fife on a cold and clear February weekend, followed in March by a guided tour from Iain Brown of the Marilyns around Builth Wells.
I reached 1000 Marilyns on Beinn Dearg on Skye during the Portree meet. Thank you to the people who were able to join me. After Skye, Dee and I went on to Harris, where we completed the local Grahams, and North Uist where we completed the local Marilyns. In July we walked in the Rhinogs and in August we had a very enjoyable day doing Mynydd Enlli on Bardsey.
My Marilyn bagging in Scotland for 2011 ended with a clear and frosty weekend in Moffat in November. Progress on the Corbetts was held up by the disgusting weather in May, but it did provide the opportunity to do a number of lower Marilyns.
My plan to finish the English Marilyns in 2011 was thwarted by the awful weather over Christmas and New Year, but was finally achieved on 2 January 2012 on Cracoe Fell.
Although I am not really into Humps, Chris Watson and Iain Brown persuaded me to check what I had done, and I am delighted to see that with just over 1200, I have entered the Humps Hall of Fame. I don't know whether I will ever reach the 2000 Humps required to enter the Upper Hall of Fame.
