Baglogs:
John Abbott (+19=393)
There were some super days in the year:
- Ysgyryd Fawr (32A) was a wee gem in May, a perfect mountain in miniature.
- At the end of May the undoubted highlight was a long tramp with a mate across Moidart (18A), taking in the five Corbetts from Rois-Bheinn to Beinn Odhar Bheag. It was a beautiful sunny day with near-perfect visibility up and down the west coast.
- Moel Siabod (30B) was a first-rate hill on a scorching day in June.
- I enjoyed a solo jaunt around Fountains Fell and Pen-y-ghent in the Yorkshire Dales on a sunny Friday in July, where I forgot my map but still remembered enough to take in all the Nuttalls I had planned.
- The last new Marilyn of the year was Black Combe (34D) in November when we dodged the hail showers and avoided the clag that dogged the higher fells. We enjoyed decent visibility between the showers and could see Wales, Scotland, the Isle of Man and Blackpool Tower.
Obviously I will be looking to get to 400 Marilyns during 2011, to enter what I believe is called the Corridor of Obscurity, probably passing 100 English Marilyns en route.
