I started in 1950, so I'm a gradualist and of course I'm quite old now, so the lower hills are appropriate although sometimes I think I should climb two per trip, but some are really hard going. For most of my working life we lived in Thurso, which made many of the hills a long way off, so we tended to repeat Morven, Ben Hope, Ben Loyal, Foinaven, Scaraben etc. Now, near Perth, things are more accessible, but I really miss the far north.
