I ended 2008 on 597 and decided that Norman's Law would be a good choice for 600, but then I had a weekend in the Lake District. After wandering round the old quarries on the way down from Lowick High Common on the Friday, it was still a lovely evening so we climbed Gummer's How en route to Windermere. The forecast for the weekend wasn't great but Saturday morning was ok, so we set off from near Blea Tarn, though the rain started soon afterwards. By the time we got to the summit of Lingmoor Fell the weather was horrendous, and I had to crawl to the top of my 600th, so there is no glorious photo. I was very glad I hadn't inflicted the occasion on anyone other than long-suffering husband, Graham.
