Obscure no more:

Miles Hutchinson, Fife (675)

After trawling through all my diaries and records and enjoying a number of local hills under 2000 feet, I calculated my Marilyn count at the end of 2004 as 675. When I first did the Munros and Tops I was using the 1953 Tables (no grid references in those days). I've now been through the list of Murdos and find that I still have three to do. My only ascent of the western tops of Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan was in 1955 when my motorbike gave two of us a flying start to the Iron Lodge. It looks like I'll need another (push) cycle and camping trip to take in An Cruachan too, as I still have 56 Grahams to go, which will take a few years at my geriatric pace. Highlights from 2004 included Creag Ghuanach, traversed on a walk from Corrour Station to Spean Bridge when the ground was rock hard, and ice fringed the shoreline of Loch Treig; magic in the bright sunshine.
