My interest in Marilyns began... because I just love lists, they take you all over the place, and on a lousy day you can downgrade your hill and still have a fabulous day out.
My favourite Marilyns are... island Marilyns, they just give the best views.
My least favourite Marilyns are... Cairngorms Marilyns, they are just big round lumps.
Do I keep Marilyn bagging a secret? No, I do not, I think it is a great way of getting round the country and seeing all parts of it. Why would you keep that a secret? Marilyn bagging gives you little or big adventures every time you go out.
I... am originally from Holland but have lived here since 1994. In the first couple of years of living in Scotland, I just went for walks or cycle runs. I did not know there were such things as Munros, Corbetts etc. I only started serious walking in 2002 after I became a member of a local hillwalking club, for which I still am the treasurer. I do have other hobbies: reading, cooking and I love working with my hands, on either a big DIY project or a craft project.
