My wife Jean and I climbed what was then our penultimate Marilyn in England and Wales in the autumn of 2012. In September 2014 we finally made arrangements to visit Bardsey Island. Fortunately the new Welsh Marilyn, Mynydd Anelog, was only a few kilometres from where we caught the boat and we had time to climb it before visiting Bardsey. We were lucky to have excellent weather and had over four hours to explore the island after we had climbed Mynydd Enlli. During the same holiday we visited the Isle of Man and climbed the Marilyns and some other hills.
Jean has now climbed 523 Marilyns and is keen to enter the Hall of Fame so we will be visiting Scotland several times in the next two years. If she succeeds in reaching 600 I will be well into the 900s and may be tempted to carry on towards 1000.
