I started 2013 in Aviemore where Liz, Mark, Rory and I were spending the New Year holiday. We climbed Carn na Loine from near Lettoch in deep soft snow. The following month, Liz and I were in Fort William where we climbed Druim Fada - Stob a'Ghrianain above Corpach. This hill made the headlines later in the year when spectacular fires swept across the southern slopes. In mid April I dropped Liz off at Glen Finnan at the start of her Cape Wrath Trail (CWT) adventure, then drove a short distance east to Gleann Fionnlighe, where I climbed Meall Onfhaidh and Aodann Chlereig. In early May, I drove north to Durness to meet Liz at the end of her CWT walk and climbed Farrmheall, Glas Bheinn and Meall Meadhonach over a couple of days. Later in May, I did Bad a' Chreamha, near Lochcarron. In June, I was joined on Ben Stack by Liz, Donald and Mark and a week later Liz and I climbed Blath Bhalg above Pitlochry.

It was October before I managed another new Marilyn, when I climbed Meall an Fheadain while on holiday in Lochinver. The Campsie Club had a weekend in Patterdale where I spent the Saturday on Hallin Fell and Place Fell, and Sunday on Great Mell Fell and Little Mell Fell. The Marilyn year was rounded off on the New Year holiday trip to Fort William where Liz, George, Mark, Rory and Duncan joined me on Glas Charn above Loch Eilt. Despite my poor total of new Marilyns for the year, I once again almost managed to average a walk every weekend; 51 days, most of which were spent repeating Munros, Corbetts or Donalds.
