My report does not cover all of my hill days for 2013, just highlighting those of interest.
In January, accompanied by John Henderson and bus passes, we headed from Forres to Edinburgh to climb Arthur's Seat. It was very windy and cold but we saw lots of people up there and it was a very enjoyable day.
In February, again with John, we went to south-west Skye and gained another five Marilyns in very mixed weather. The B and B accommodation was first class in Broadford.
In May, John, Andy Lawson and I headed for Shetland with a goal of achieving 19 Marilyns in eight days. You will see in John and Andy's report more details. It was a wonderful experience. I would recommend it to anyone as worth a visit.
In June, John and I headed up the A9 to Braemore to climb Maiden Pap, Smean and Scaraben. They are lovely hills, but ruined by three wind turbine sites. Need I say more?
In July, with my friend Brent Craig, we headed to Loch Hourn to climb Sgurr nan Eugallt. It was a very hot day, well over 30C, but worth the trip to see such a wonderful vista of mountains in Knoydart.
In September we headed up to Loch More where our goal was Meallan Liath Coire Mhic Dhughaill. The day started off misty but cleared later to give us another day in a wonderful area.
My last hunting trip for 2013 was in October with MMC bus meet to Glenfinnan. Glas Charn and Sgurr an Utha were achieved in good company - a fitting end to the season.
