Baglogs (72 of them):

Jim Fothergill (+44=1419)

Only three trips in 2013, the highlight of which was undoubtedly Alan Holmes' trip to Shetland in May and June which was my first club trip and great to meet so many fellow baggers, marred only by the failure to get to Fair Isle or Foula. Having climbed all the Marilyns, Humps and sundry trigpoint pillars, I returned to Aberdeen for Hunt Hill en route to Tomintoul for three days to complete regions 7, 8 and 21.

Prior to this I had an eight-day trip from the end of February, based initially at Corpach (Mallaig hostel was closed) for rounds from Mallaig and Glenfinnan, then moving on to Stromeferry (Ratagan was closed) for some hills around Glenelg, Druim Fada and Beinn a'Meadhoin completing region 10.

In July I had a week in Snowdonia in sweltering heat mostly based at Cwm Pennant hostel near Porthmadog. This included the completion of my Welsh Marilyns on an excellent trip to Bardsey Island, fortunately visiting Mynydd Anelog afterwards which was reclassified the following week. Apart from this, the trip was primarily about bagging the Nuttalls which had been relocated or added since completing them (apart from Pillar Rock) in the 90s. I have still got Honister Crag (Black Star) and the new Renwick Fell (Thack Moor) to do though.

The following week on a long day-trip from home I bagged my last two English Marilyns of Normanby Top and Bishop Wilton Wold, visiting the National Railway Museum on the way back for the Great Gathering of A4 steam trains.

Apart from these I have been whittling away at the Wainwright Outlying Fells (18 left, including nameless ones), Birketts (137 left) and nearby Humps and trigpoint pillars (837 done) on day trips.

Still Foinaven left to complete the Corbetts and now only Basteir Tooth needed for the Munro Tops with the demotion of Knight's Peak but neither are likely this year with trips to Barra, Helmsdale, Orkney and Lewis (for St Kilda) planned.
