With eighty arthritic years on the clock my only new Marilyn in 2012 was Sheabhal, Barra, bagged on a tourist coach-trip from Manchester. It is a fine island hill distinguished by the magnificent white statue of the Virgin Mary and child. Interesting point: the grassy summit features a lone boulder with empty sockets, the top of which is possibly about a metre above the base of the neighbouring trig. Should the tamperers pay a visit and promote the height to 384m?
