Jenny Hatfield (609)

My interest in Marilyns began... because I like to go to new places and plan new routes - so have always been interested in lists of hills to inspire me. My first completed list was all the 2000ft peaks in the Lake District. I was told about the list of Marilyns by some good friends whilst I was busy completing the Munros about ten years ago and I bought the book.

My favourite Marilyns are... hills with views across the sea - so north-west Scotland is a favourite area. We had a great time bagging Corbetts and Grahams in the far north-west at Easter 2011. I like wild scenery, no paths and few people.

My least favourite Marilyns are... when the top is ruined by wind farms, forestry, roads or aerials.

Do I keep Marilyn bagging a secret? No. I find many people are interested in the concept of a Marilyn, and want to know if their favourite hills would class as Marilyns.

I... still prefer the bigger Marilyns and the sense of achievement they bring. So Corbetts and Grahams are the priority for me.
