Apart from 47 new Marilyns and various repeat Munros, I scaled one new Ultra, which was my third continental summit.
High point: Mount Elbrus (5642m) on 23 August 2006.
Lowest point: Minus 15 metres whilst diving off Christmas Island, Republic of Kiribati, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, during a work trip.
Highlight: Ascent of six new Marilyns in the Lake District whilst doing the Lloyds Register 24 peaks challenge in May.
High jinks: Sailed over to St Kilda and ascended Conachair, but the clag was down to sea level so the views were not as good as they could have been :-(
Least effort: If you exclude the drive from the north coast then it was Bishop Wilton Wold, whilst driving from Manchester to Newcastle for work.
Scariest Marilyn: Hill of Nigg. While taking a photograph from the summit, a herd of about 20 highland cows started charging towards me from about 500 metres away. According to the GPS my maximum speed was 19.6km/h as I ran for the nearest fence and only just managed to get over it in time, with a few deep cuts on my legs from rusty barbed wire to show for the ordeal.
