I started off the year on a family holiday in Lancashire where I managed to climb Longridge Fell and Fair Snape Fell. In early March Fiarach in Strath Fillan was climbed in crampons. First day back from Lanzarote I was on strike, and so managed to get out for a bonus walk on Hill of Stake (27A), although judging by the weather I would have been better off at work. At Easter Liz and I went to Rum, where we climbed Hallival, Askival and Trollaval. We met three guys who had just spent 21/2 hours descending Ainshval, so we left it for another day. Ord Ban in June completed a round of hills starting with every letter of the alphabet! I cycled up Strath Dearn to Carn na Saobhaidhe in July, losing a pedal on the way and having to tie my foot to the remaining one on the way out.
