Most of my 23 were on two dedicated trips. I discovered the beauty of the Howgill Fells on Valentine's Day, despite awful weather, and found a good camping barn near Kirkby Stephen. I was the only one there and it was freezing cold, but in lovely surroundings. In May I found Arnside Knott to be a lovely hill with great views and a cracking pub called the Fighting Cocks at the bottom. I also managed Ward's Stone in the Forest of Bowland, which for some reason was covered in seagulls. Lovely stretch of moorland though. I also popped up Winter Hill near Bolton, which must take the prize for the most cluttered summit in Britain, with its eight telecomunications masts. Next day was a real treat... Kinder Scout on a wonderful sunny day. A lot of people don't really like this type of hill, but personally I loved it. Wide open spaces, and in its own way as good as any hill in Britain.
