Andy Hyams: The minor road leading up Cwm Groes from Talardd looks as though it will give easy access to the Aran Fawddwy ridge, but parking is difficult and it is full of 'No access to hill' signs. However, I did spot an unobtrusive 'Permissive path' disc at SH886256. There is room for one car on the verge nearby. This gives a delightful route to the ridge just north of Llyn Lliwbran. Avoiding the long tramp to and from Llanuwchlyn enabled me to include Esgeiriau Gwynion and adjoining Hewitts.
