Baglogs: Central Chamber:

Baglog: Peter Wilson (+5=612)

After being labelled 'the slowest mover and sole overseas resident' in the last Marhofn I wasn't sure I wanted to retain the first part of the accolade. But the two go together, so until another overseas resident joins the Hall I can't really escape the tag. I visited the two Bowland summits, White Hill and Ward's Stone (36), on a June day from a base at Stainforth youth hostel. All the other hostellers headed north to do the three peaks, and I had the Bowland hills to myself. Recently promoted Arnside Knott was added a couple of days later. On our July cycle trip along the Scottish coast we managed Mullach Mor on Holy Island and Carn Breugach on Kerrera. Shame to say that only one Irish Marilyn was added during the year; Belmore Mountain in Fermanagh (+1=188). Our route entailed one of the most awkward sections of forest fire break I've ever encountered. We lived to tick the list, but I don't think we'll be returning.
