Although I made four visits to Scotland, 2005 was a fairly low-key year for me. My third visit came at the end of July, for the Scottish six-day orienteering event. This was held on Deeside, but my accommodation was at Huntly, which enabled me to climb a few Marilyns on my return in the afternoons. On the rest day I had an excellent time on Bennachie and Millstone Hill. My last visit was at the end of October to Angus and then to Braemar, where I bumped into Richard Wood at the hostel. He is quite a character, and I notice that he got a mention in Trail magazine in August.
