Obscure no more:

Peter Malone, Lochcarron (608)

The main objective this year was to help my brother, Don, to complete his Munros. In doing this it would enable me to complete a second round, so we chose Ben Vane (1D) to finish. I started the year with only a dozen Corbetts left, so with careful planning The Cobbler was the obvious final choice. Considering western Scotland had one of the wettest years on record, I chose excellent days to travel to Rum (July) and Arran and Jura (September), to arrive at my penultimate goal. On 10 October, with a party of eight, we celebrated Don's Munro completion, and my second round, followed by a dodgy scramble onto the summit of The Cobbler. On return to our hostelry, when writing up my log I discovered the 600th Marilyn had been cracked. A Corbett completion, second round of Munros and entry to the Hall of Fame, all on the same day, set the scene for a good night.
