Five trips to Scotland in 2004, missing March, April and May due to (successful) surgery on both feet to replace arthritic big toe joints. A year dominated by forestry started in Galloway in February, with Deeside and Speyside in summer and Argyll in October. More than half the ascents had forestry connotations, so my thanks to all the Marhofers who helped with guidance into, through and out of the trees - very much appreciated.
Highlights were anything without much forestry or giving superb views of coast and islands, e.g. Beinn Lora, Carn Breugach, Cruach nam Fearna, or hills with paths, e.g. Ord Ban, Tap o'Noth, Lord Arthur's Hill. Other highlights in the year were The Bochel, Beinn Duirinnis (superb views of Loch Etive), Beinn Mheadhoin (my last hill in region 9), and a misty ascent of Sgurr a'Choire-bheithe from Barrisdale in July. Three consecutive trig plates were visited (by coincidence) in Banff. Still three first hills by Marhofers yet to be climbed, plus five Corbetts, two Council Tops, etc, etc.
