Baggers abroad:

Baggers abroad: John Barrowman

Since completing the Grahams in July 2003 I have not chalked up any new hills, having reverted to old favourites such as Buachaille Etive Mor and Aonach Eagach. However, I did break new ground with a trip to New Zealand, where I climbed Ben Lomond. Before this I had had ten days in Egypt (where I did my national service 50 years ago) and ticked off Mount Sinai, with a midnight ascent to see the sun rise, plus a balloon flight from Luxor over the Valley of the Kings (though hills drifted over do not qualify for a tick).
