Annual reports M-W:
Annual report: Jimmy White
I managed to reach my target of 621 (my pass-mark of 40% of Marilyns) and to spend a weekend in Wales, although the Isle of Man is still virgin walking territory to me. Coincidentally, I have completed 621 Dumgoynes, with 700 likely by the year end. A few walks from 2002:
- Tryfan, March
- Tryfan clear of snow, but the Glyders completely iced up. Couldn't believe the number of walkers doing the round.
- Rum, April
- Superb, clear sunny weather and a romp over the Cuillin, with a moonlit return to Kinloch. Not a soul to be seen.
- Common Hill (27A), August
- Plenty of company on this hill - at least two dozen large windmills churning away.
- Bishop Wilton Wold (37), September
- This 'ascent' was the culmination of 65th birthday celebrations near York.
- Deuchary Hill (6B), December
- Don't believe the recent Landranger map. It shows a complete skirt or sitkas, but I saw none, not even plantings on the south side of the hill, nor on the faint path from NO036479 to the trig point perched on a large boulder on the sharp summit.
