To Marilynists I dedicate this ode
To encourage them on their long road
May your boots stay dry
And your knees stay sweet
To keep you on the hills you seek
It's Alan Dawson we must impeach
For spurring us on with his great speech
Of distances, heights gained and lost
He made us think we had lost the toss
Mercilessly he lodged our tally
To stop us all from going do-lally
He even enlisted the mighty press
To encourage us to do our best
Many interviews we had to submit
Big tall Dave Hewitt with all his kit
Opinions all and dates and times
With distances not far behind
In helping us with his great list
He never misses with his hits
So to this man we all adore
For relentlessly keeping the score
His dedication we much admire
Far better than a list for hire
With many thanks for interest shown
We are all indebted to his tome
With many cheers to the master
Let's hope we finish before the hereafter
